We are delighted to announce a special focus to the West of England annual conference this year. We know online safety is an area of concern for schools following the changes made to the DfE Keeping Children Safe in Education document and the Ofsted emphasis on safeguarding. Working with David Wright from Safer Internet Centre we have arranged an online safety conference.
This will take place on Monday 12 June at BAWA, Bristol.
We are delighted to have the following high profile, national keynote speakers booked to speak:
- Ken Corish – Safer Internet Centre
- John Nixon – Ofsted
- Michael Bell – Head of Safeguarding at DfE – the owner of Keeping Children Safe in Education
- Will Gardner – Childnet
“The internet is an extraordinary force for good but it is not designed with children in mind. Yet one third of internet users are under the age of 18 and the part it plays in their lives continues to grow among 3-4 year olds”.
Growing up Digital Report
“governing bodies and proprietors should ensure appropriate filters and appropriate monitoring systems are in place” and “ensure children are taught about safeguarding, including online”
Keeping Children Safe in Education
- Benefit from up to date information from national, regional and local leaders working in the field of online safety
- Find ways to improve leadership in safeguarding young people online
- Ensure your online safety processes are as robust at possible
- Develop teacher knowledge to improve online safety teaching
The conference is open to headteachers, governors, senior leaders, child protection, PSHE and computing leads.
The cost for the conference is £80 (cost covers all mornings sessions, exhibition, sponsor seminars, final keynote and includes lunch and refreshments during the day. Attendance at two extra workshops can be booked at a small cost). To book a place click here.
Exhibition – Companies book your place now!
During the afternoon of the conference there will be an exhibition of suppliers. The exhibition has always made a valued contribution to the success of the conference in the past and we would very much like this to continue.
There are two stand sizes available 2 by 1m and 2 by 2m for sponsors. Companies may book more than one stand adjoining if they wish. Stand spaces will be set up and exhibitors will be able to choose their stand on arrival so this will be on a first come first served basis.
If you feel your company has something to offer that would be of interest to an audience focused around online safety, we would welcome your attendance at this conference.
