Course DescriptionThis one-day course is for teachers who are new to or wish to refresh their knowledge of talk for writing.
The course supports the development of consistently good and outstanding teaching through the effective use of talk for writing strategies, and provides first-hand experience of 'talk for writing'.
N.B. This course is fully aligned with the expectations of National Curriculum 2014 programmes of study for English.
Outcomes Participants will:
• be supported to develop consistently good and outstanding teaching through the effective use of talk for writing strategies which can be evidenced through pupil outcomes;
• have a clear understanding of the talk for writing strategies and their purposes;
• understand how talk for writing strategies can be applied across the curriculum;
• have had practical experience of using the strategies as a learner to develop their own writing.
