Course DescriptionThe one day conference is based on the highly successful model led by Weston Excellence in 2013. The conference is aimed at teaching assistants who wish to explore approaches to help children become more independent learners. The selection of workshops will all have this key message at the centre of their aims.
The workshops will cover a range of aspects and delegates can select which to attend based on their requirements. There will also be a structured opportunity for networking and meeting other colleagues delivering a similar role.
This menu of workshops is an example of sessions that may be included on the day:
• Promoting Emotional Wellbeing.
• Low Level Reading for Older Children/ Developing Reading Skills at KS2.
• Building Independence in Learners.
• Questioning.
• Talk for Learning.
• Supporting pupils with social communication needs (including those on the autism spectrum).
