|Course Title||Improving Teacher Programme (ITP)|
|Course Tutor||Accredited ITP facilitators from Gordano School and North Somerset Primary Schools who have considerable experience of successful teaching and development roles within their schools and the wider teaching community.|
|Duration||4 x half day facilitated sessions & 1 x full day facilitated session|
|Target Audience||This programme is for schools and teachers who want to advance, develop and improve their teaching practice and deliver consistently good lessons.|
We recommend that schools send three members of staff to attend the programme. They would then co-plan, deliver and feedback on a number of activities and lesson(s) observations.
It is expected that the senior leadership team will nominate staff who they feel would benefit from this type of professional development.
A mentor should be agreed upon for the learning three who is usually a senior leader at the school.
The Improving Teacher Programme is not a behaviour management programme and is not appropriate for those who are deemed to be inadequate.
