Course DescriptionThis training is designed to deepen understanding of Appraisal and Capability Policy and to ensure that appraisers are able to effectively implement the process. Appraisers will consider the context for appraisal in alignment with the changing School Teachers Pay and Conditions requirements, OfSTED expectations and the professional standards for teachers. The course provides a framework to examine the professional standards and connect these with the underpinning need for school improvement as it is delivered through the setting and through the monitoring of appraisal objectives.
Outcomes • Understand the connection between Appraisal and Capability in the Policy.
• Understand the links between school improvement and the Appraisal process.
• Make effective connections between appraisal objectives and the underpinning professional standards.
• Consider the monitoring and assessment of appraisal outcomes and the associated pay implications.
